Cotter City Council reviews ordinance for data centers Thursday night

The Cotter City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday night at 6 in the Cotter City Hall Council Chamber.

Items on the agenda include a presentation from Waste Connections to discuss the annual CPI adjustment and fuel reduction adjustment for trash service. The new rate will be reduced to $12.61 from $12.75 for one trash cart. The council will hear an update on the Phase II Rehabilitation Project bids to the USDA; resolutions for the sewer line rehabilitation project with Engineering Service, Inc.; a resolution to enter a contract with NLS Construction for the Phase II sewer line improvements; a resolution to set the annual tax levy assessed in 2023 to be collected in 2024; a budget resolution to receive $2,024 LLEBR police equipment grant received from the Arkansas Office of Intergovernmental Service; a resolution to retire, auction and sell fire engine #3 – a 1992 GMC Fire Truck with Wilson Pumper with proceeds going to the savings fund for future purchase of a new fire truck; and the review of a proposed ordinance to adopt rules and regulations concerning noise attenuation of data centers and prevent noise distribution in the city.
