When students returned to school at Cotter recently, they saw the early stages of construction for a new addition to the high school building. The addition will be 17,000 square feet and will house 10 classrooms. The construction is expected to be completed by December of next year, and the building will begin hosting classes in January of 2025.
Superintendent Jayme Jones says former superintendent Vanessa Thomas-Jones started a master plan five years ago for the addition. Jones says they are proud of the fact they were able to fund the project without having to ask for a millage increase from district patrons.
