H.I.S.ET. classes offered to Ozark County Jail inmates

A local law enforcement agency recently announced an initiative aiming to empower and equip its jail inmates with skills and knowledge to strive for success when they are released from incarceration. The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office is offering high school equivalency test (H.I.S.E.T.) classes to its inmates at the county jail.

Sheriff Cass Martin says his office first received information on the program from an employee at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The Ozark County sheriff adds funding to provide the courses to the inmates is courtesy of a grant, and the sheriff’s budget is not being affected.
