A man is accused attacking a female at a rural Mountain Home residence. Thirty-one-year-old Christopher Davis is in the Baxter County Detention Center facing charges of third-degree domestic battery and violating a no-contact order.

According to an incident report, 911 dispatch notified the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 29 of a physical domestic incident on Arkansas Highway 5 South. A deputy met with the victim that morning and stated she was laying in bed as Davis went to the bathroom. She claims she heard him trying to light something with a lighter. After she told Davis they weren’t allowed to smoke in the house because it was a rental, he reportedly started swearing at her and became agressive.

The victim says she put a child outside for safety, and Davis allegedly started attacking her. He reportedly grabbed her and slammed her on the bedroom floor. When the victim attempted to lock Davis out of the room, he allegedly kicked in the door, started hitting her and ripped her shirt.

The deputy claims he observed several light bruises and swelling in her hands. The female also stated Davis bent her ring, and the deputy says she was unable to remove it due to the swelling.

Another deputy spotted Davis walking on Highway 5, and it was discovered he had a no-contact order with the victim listed as the protected party. Davis told the deputy the order is no longer in effect after it was dropped in court.

Bond for Davis is set at $1,000.
