A Mountain Home High School alum was recently recognized for his performance on the collegiate level. UCA’s Ky Bickford was named the Atlantic Sun Conference’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week.
Bickford took home the school’s first honor in team history. He began his college career Saturday by finishing eighth in the UCA Bear Cross Country Invitational at Conway. With his personal record time of 14:49.22, Bickford helped UCA win the event.
The Bears’ next competition is Sept. 16 as they travel to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in the Michael Pretorius Invitational.
