Hall, Hardison win Big Creek Stroke Play Championship

The Big Creek Golf and Country Club Stroke Play Championship ended its two-day run on Sunday.

Craig Hall was the top male golfer of the event designated by the Arkansas State Golf Association. Hall captured the senior division with an eight-under-par 136. Mark Chambers finished second as he was 11 strokes off the lead, and Terry Kirby was third at 154.

A tiebreaker was needed to decide the winner of the amateur division. Matt Johnson beat out Tyler Reynolds after both shot a three-under-par 141. Adam Mote was third at seven strokes back.

Brent Cook won the mid-senior division with a two-day total of 147. Kyle Thompson ended up second at six strokes off the lead, and Casey Castleberry took third place with a 161.

Jay Lester came away with the win in the super senior division with a 148. Tracey Harris and Bobby Baker finished in a tie for second at one stroke off the lead.

Bill Wrentz captured the masters division with a 151. Gary Whitt was second at seven strokes back, and Jim Smith ended up third with a 161.

Sarah Hardison had the best result on the women’s side. Hardison won the mid-senior division with a two-day total of 155.

Rosetta Parks captured the senior division. Parks ended up shooting a 173.

Pam Evans won the super senior division with a 174. Paula Moore took second place at four strokes off the lead, and Paula Curtis finished third with a 180.

Beverly Harris came away with the masters division title with a 169. Rebecca Huber and Mimi Evans were tied for second at seven strokes back.
