A Fulton County man was Tased and arrested after he allegedly stole a pickup truck in central Arkansas. Thirty-year-old Edward Peter Hoyer allegedly stole the truck Saturday night in Plumerville and drove it back to Salem.
According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies were dispatched to a location on Church Street in Salem Sunday where a woman had found several items, including a brief case. Documents had a mans name on them, so she looked him up on Facebook and contacted him. He reported to deputies his truck had been stolen Saturday night.
The deputy started patrolling the area and discovered the stolen truck in a driveway on Elm Street. A woman exited the house and told the deputy her grandson was driving the truck and was in the house. A man then came out and said Hoyer told him he had stolen the truck.
Hoyer was asleep on the couch, and as deputies tried to wake him up, he started swinging his fists and trying to kick officers. At this point, deputies deployed a Taser to subdue Hoyer and take him into custody.
Hoyer is facing a felony charge of theft by receiving and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. His bond is set at $25,000.
