A woman has been arrested after she allegedly assaulted two men and a sheriff’s deputy. The incidents Sept. 5 have led to several charges against 47-year-old Lydia Villapando.
According to the probable cause affidavit, law enforcement responded to a house in Mammoth Spring for a domestic situation. As officers arrived, they could hear breaking glass and a female screaming. When they entered the house, they found an injured man sitting on a bed, an elderly woman on the couch and Villapando pacing back and forth.
Witnesses told law enforcement Villapando was arguing with the male victim in the house and starting hitting and biting him and then choking him. Another man who tried to intervene was also allegedly struck by the suspect.
When the victims tried to call 911, they say Villapando took the phone so they couldn’t get help.
A deputy transported Villapando to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. When they arrived, Villapando refused to leave the vehicle and starting kicking and fighting with the deputy and threatening to kill him. The deputy was treated at the hospital for a head injury.
Villapando is facing felony charges of battery and terroristic threatening along with misdemeanor charges of domestic battery, resisting arrest and interference with emergency communications. Her bond is set at $10,000.
