A Salesville man is accused of breaking into a residence and lunging toward a female while she was holding an infant. Twenty-three-year-old Jesse Foster Jr. has been in the Baxter County Detention Center since Friday night with bond set at $15,000.

According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, a female called 911 from her residence on Farmers Circle in Salesville and claimed a male kicked her door open and broke into her house. As two deputies responded, the female told 911 he was leaving in his vehicle intoxicated and would be driving up Pine Street. Neither deputy met the suspect while en route.

The victim claimed after the male entered the residence, he lunged toward her as she was holding a child, and she thought she was going to be attacked. She also accused the man of kicking her vehicle numerous times before leaving.

The deputies later left to confront the male, identified as Foster, at his residence on Wilson Drive. Foster was reportedly located in his running vehicle as it was parked in the garage, and he was taken into custody.

Foster’s probation officer was notified as he was being transported to the detention center, and a preliminary breath test was requested. As Foster was being booked, his blood alcohol reading was .15. The legal limit in Arkansas is .08.

Foster is facing felony counts of residential burglary and first-degree criminal mischief and misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault on a family or household member and third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
