
Local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 30 has placed an emphasis on suicide prevention initiates in recent years with the U.S. Veteran Outreach program and through those efforts the veteran suicide rate has been reduced by 76 percent in Baxter County.
Dan Hall, DAV Commander for Chapter 30, recently spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News on how the loss of people he knew personally led him and those assisting in the project take action as Baxter County at one time had the highest suicide rate among veterans in Arkansas.

Due to the success of the U.S. Veteran Outreach in Baxter county the program has garnered national attention and even been invited to speak at national conferences.
