A local law-enforcement agency was honored during the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) last Wednesday through Friday. The Izard County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a certificate for “Outstanding ACIC Systems Audit.”
ACIC provides information technology services to law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies throughout the state. According to the sheriff’s office, records entered by Izard County dispatchers were checked during the ACIC audit. The information included warrants on individuals, missing persons, protection orders and stolen property. The records were checked for timeliness of the entry, proper information, necessary updates and required removal from the system.
The sheriff’s office was notified of the results for the annual Legislative Audit conducted earlier in the year, and no violations were found. The audit was for all assets, financial records, and bank accounts administered by the sheriff’s office.
Izard County Terminal Agency Coordinator Gina Carpenter and Jail Administer Sherry Davidson oversee the records checked by ACIC during the audit. Betty Vest and Talea Pittman oversee the financial records and bank accounts.
In his statement, Sheriff Charley Melton says, “I am very pleased and honored for the Sheriff’s Office to have received the ACIC award as well as having no findings during the Legislative Audit. This shows the professionalism and commitment that each employee of the Sheriff’s Office puts forth in their duties.”
