A pair of awards won recently by Baxter Health are based on employee satisfaction, something the hospital is banking on in helping retain current personnel and attract new workers. The hospital won the Modern Healthcare Best Places to Work in Healthcare Award for the third consecutive year. Baxter Health also was among those honored by Arkansas Business as one of the Best Places to Work in the state, the fifth year in a row they have picked up the honor.

Natalie Amato is the new senior human resources manager at Baxter Health. She says the local hospital was one of only two facilities in Arkansas to win the Modern Healthcare award which is heavily decided by surveys sent to employees.

The HR manager says nurses and respiratory therapists have been the departments they have the hardest time filling.

In an upcoming story, Amato will talk about how the hospital, one of the largest employers in the area, has had to change the way they recruit new workers and keep current personnel.
