A Pea Ridge man is accused of holding a female against her will for an extended time. Twenty-five-year-old Michael Lane is being held in the Benton County Jail on multiple charges including two counts of kidnapping.
According to a Facebook post from the Pea Ridge Police Department, the incident was not considered an abduction of a stranger. The alleged victim was rescued at the time of Lane’s arrest on Wednesday. No further information was released as the investigation continues.
Both kidnapping charges are Class Y felonies, the most serious classification of crime in Arkansas not punishable by death. Lane also faces a felony count of intimidating a witness and various other felony and misdemeanor drug and drug paraphernalia charges. He is being held on a cash-only bond of $1 million.
