U.S.S. Arkansas crew to receive Key to the City at Thursday’s meeting

On Thursday, the Mountain Home City Council will meet in regular session at 6 in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building.

Prior to the agenda, Mayor Hillrey Adams and NJROTC Commander Allan Hale will award a Key to the City to the crew of the U.S.S. Arkansas, a newly commissioned nuclear attack submarine for United States Navy.

Items on the agenda include consideration of an ordinance to declare a procedure for the copying, retention and disposal of exhibit files from city council meetings; an ordinance to specify the type of cement to be used when pouring thrust block for underground piping service sprinkler systems and standpipe systems; an ordinance addressing fire department connections for sprinkler systems or standpipe systems and setting a maximum distance from the nearest fire hydrant; and an ordinance to amend an ordinance which regulates the retail selling, manufacturing, shooting and discharging of fireworks within the boundaries of Mountain Home.
