A former apartment complex manager in Flippin has been arrested for allegedly forging and then cashing money orders from tenants intended for rent payment. Thirty-two-year-old Jamie Annette Falconburg is facing eight charges following the investigation.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Marion County investigators were contacted by Walmart’s asset protection division after they discovered Falconburg had cashed multiple altered money orders.
Falconburg cashed five money orders totaling $1,021 between Sept. 5 and Oct. 1 at the Walmart in Flippin. Falconburg also attempted to cash another money order for $200, but was denied by Walmart employees because it appeared to be altered.
The money orders came from tenants of Hillwood Apartments in Flippin where Falconburg was the manager until Aug. 18. The money orders had been altered in the pay to order section to show “Hillwood Apartments or Jamie Falconburg.”
Falconburg is facing five felony counts of forgery, one felony count each of theft of property and criminal attempt to commit forgery and a misdemeanor count of theft of property.
She is free on $5,000 bond.
