More details have been released about the suspects captured following a pursuit in Marion and Baxter counties Saturday night. Being held in the Marion County Detention Center is 31-year-old Leigh Goldsworth Blackmon of Flippin. In the Baxter County Detention Center is 29-year-old Chelsea Rae Holland.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office had issued an appeal for the public to be on the lookout for Blackmon last week after he was involved in a shooting incident. A Marion County deputy spotted Blackmon and Holland on a motorcycle Saturday night, and following a pursuit that ended in Baxter County, the two were taken into custody.

Blackmon, who has an extensive criminal record, was wanted most recently for a shooting that happened Oct. 15 in the Summit area. According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told investigators Blackmon shot him with a shotgun.

The suspect was seriously injured and transferred to a Little Rock hospital. The report indicates the suspect may lose use of one eye.

Blackmon is facing felony charges of battery in the first degree and possession of firearms by a certain person. His bond is set at $150,000 for that crime. The battery in the first degree charge is a Class Y felony, the most serious crime in Arkansas not punishable by the death penalty.

There is also a hold on Blackmon from Baxter County for a sexual assault incident that occurred in February. According to that probable cause affidavit, the victim, who used to date Blackmon, had let him stay at her house after he got out of jail and his father had passed away.

The victim had placed cameras in her house and the video shows Blackmon looking at the camera while performing a sex act and putting his middle finger up to the camera. He then sexually assaulted the victim.

Blackmon is facing a felony charge of sexual assault in the second degree for that incident. He also faces an enhanced penalty of being a habitual offender.

Blackmon has multiple arrests in Baxter and Marion counties dating back to 2013. Charges include battery in the second degree, commercial burglary, breaking or entering, theft of property, criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, criminal attempt, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.

Holland was arrested after the pursuit for a warrant out of Gassville for her role in the theft of a vehicle.

The probable cause affidavit indicates the vehicle was stolen from a business in Gassville Oct. 2. It was found at a residence where Holland was located.

Holland is facing a felony theft by receiving charge. She also picked up drug charges while police were there when methamphetamine was found in the house. Her bond is set at $15,000.
