On Wednesday, the Mountain Home High School Marching Band completed another successful marching competition season by receiving a Superior First Division Rating at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association State Marching Contest held at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Bands must score between 80-100 points in order to received a superior rating. The band finished 8th out of 13 bands in classification 6A. Currently, there are 19 bands in 6A based upon the Arkansas Activities Association football classification system.
In addition to starting earning their region marching ratings towards the sweepstakes award with concert and sight-reading competitions in the spring, the Bomber Band has earned the first leg of the Super Sweepstakes Award for superior performance in marching, with the state concert contest to take place in April.
The annual band marching exhibition was held Thursday night at 6:30 at Bomber Stadium. The junior high band will performed first, followed by the high school band and then the “lights out” run through immediately followed the encore performance of this year’s production “Survivor.”
