Woman arrested after stolen handgun found at pawn shop

A Mountain Home woman has been arrested  in connection to a stolen handgun located at a local pawn shop.According to the affidavit, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office investigators received a theft report from an 81-year-old man in Mountain Home. He stated his grandson had recently been staying with him and his grandson’s girlfriend, identified as 32-year-old Laiken Fox had been visiting him.

The victim stated he kept a pistol in a bedside table in the same room his grandson has been staying in. When he went to look for the handgun, it was discovered to be missing, prompting him to file a theft report. The victim stated he heard Fox bragging to others about stealing the handgun, valued at approximately $500.

Investigators began to search local pawn shops and discovered Fox had pawned the stolen handgun on Oct. 23.

Fox was charged with theft by receiving. She was released from the Baxter County Detention Center on $2500 bond.
