
An Ozark County man has been arrested on assault charges after he allegedly shot a rock towards his neighbor with a sling shot.According to the probable cause affidavit, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a victim who stated his neighbor, identified as Timothy Frye, shot a rock at him with a slingshot. He stated he was sitting inside his laundry room with the window open when Frye saw him and shot a rock towards him but missed.
The victim showed authorities a video showing Frye walking along the fence line right after he shot the rock. He told deputies he would like to press charges. The victim is disabled and confined to a wheelchair which, by law, qualifies him as a special victim.
Deputies were contacted by a second victim who stated Frye threatened to kill her in late September on the road outside of her house. The victim stated Frye tried to challenge her to come out onto her front lawn and fight him.
Frye was located at his house by deputies where he stated he fired his slingshot towards a cat, missed and the marble hit a fence post where it ricochet and struck the victim’s house. Authorities located the sling shot and shirt he was wearing in the video in his living room.
Frye was booked into the Ozark County Detention Center on charges of third degree assault on a special victim and first degree harassment.
