Man injured in 1-vehicle accident, charged with DWI

An area man suffered minor injuries late Monday afternoon after his pickup truck left the road and overturned in a concrete culvert in Ozark County. Fifty-one-year-old Darin Evans of Gainesville was also charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense).

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Evans was traveling on County Road 103. He was nearly a mile-and-a-half north of Gainesville when his truck ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned in the culvert. Evans, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was later transported to Baxter Health.

In addition to DWI, Evans was cited for careless and imprudent driving involving an accident. His truck had moderate damage in the 4:30 p.m. accident.
