Ballot has been set for March Primary

The ballot in Baxter County for the Preferential Primary Election in March is set following the ballot position drawing held Tuesday morning. Only those positions with an opponent within the same party were placed on the ballot.

KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News was recently notified, in the race for Norfork Public Schools Board of Education only one position for the Board was up for election in 2024, which is Position 2. During the filing period, current incumbent for Position 2, Levi Woods, filed and petitioned for Position 1 which is not up for election until 2025.

In the race for Arkansas State Representative for District 4, Jason Nazarenko will have position one and Justice Tink Albright will have second.

Mountain Home School Board Position 5 is the only contested race for School Board. Russell N. Luder will have position one and Mollie Morgan will have position two.

The Baxter County Quorum Court has four races in the Republican Primary. In the race for District 2, Daniel K. Carley will have position one and Mike McDonald will have position two. For District 6, Lisa House will be listed in position one and Mark Medley in position two. In District 7, Bob Nault will be listed in position one and Dr. Charles Osgood will be listed in position two.

The race for Justice of the Peace in District 11 will have four candidates. Carla Dennis will have position one, Ezra Roberts will be listed second, Toney Brasuell will be listed third and Eric Payne with be fourth.

Baxter County Constable will have a three-person race for District 1. Jeromy Weaver will hold position one, Douglas Stephens listed second and Jamie Binnion listed third.

In the race for Arkansas State Representative for District 27, Timmy Reid will hold position one and incumbent Steve Walker will be second.

The race for State Supreme Court Associate Justice Position 2 will have Judge Carlton DD. Jones in position one and State Supreme Court Justice Courtney Hudson in position two.

In a four way race for State Supreme Court Chief Justice Position 1, Jay Martin will hold position one, Arkansas State Supreme Court Justice Karen Baker will be second, Supreme Court Justice Barbara Womack Webb will be third and Supreme Court Justice Rhonda Wood will be fourth.

In the presidential race, six candidates will be on the Democratic ballot and nine on the Republican ballot.

For the Democratic ballot, Dean Phillips will hold position one, Armando “Mando” Perez-Serrato will be second, Marianne Williamson will be third, Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will be fourth, Frankie Lozada will be fifth and Stephen P. Lyons will be sixth.

For the Republican ballot Chris Christie will hold position one, David Stuckenberg will be second, Ryan L. Binkley will be third, Ron DeSantis will be fourth, Doug Burgum will be fifth, Nikki Haley will be sixth, Asa Hutchinson will be seventh, Vivek Ramaswamy will be in eighth, and Donald J. Trump will be ninth.

The Primary Election will be held March 5 with early voting beginning February 19.
