ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested a Texarkana, Texas, man on Thursday in connection with a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality that occurred on U.S. Highway 82 on March 9, 2023. Joseph Curtis Miller, 85, of Springhill, Louisiana, was visiting family in Arkansas when he was struck and killed.

Brandon Glenn Lane, 50, was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Involving Serious Injury or Death and booked into the Lafayette County Jail.

Critical information was provided to investigators in response to ASP social media posts and reports from media partners. An ASP media advisory included a photo of the suspect’s vehicle, which investigators believed sustained significant damage based on evidence retrieved at the scene.

“We want to thank all those who provided information to help us solve this case and give some answers to Mr. Miller’s family,” said ASP Colonel Mike Hagar.
