Rising operating costs are affecting a local domestic violence shelter. Serenity INC., located in Mountain Home, faces a shortage of food and household items as they close the year. Since 1988, Serenity has been bringing domestic peace to the families of Baxter and Marion Counties, in addition to the surrounding counties of North Central Arkansas, by providing emergency shelter and advocacy services to those in need.

Tracy Hatfield, Business Office Manager for Serenity, was recently a guest on KTLO’s Talk of the Town, and she says the community’s support helps those families that often are in life-and-death situations.
