A Saturday morning residential fire in Mountain Home resulted in the arrest of man in connection with the incident. Mountain Home Police Chief Eddie Griffin says 34-year-old Bradley Haines of Mountain Home is in the Baxter County Detention Center facing charges of arson, criminal mischief and cruelty to animals.
According to the report from the Mountain Home Fire Department, personnel received the alarm at 8:40 and arrived five minutes later to 328 South Kingswood Drive. The fire reportedly started in the kitchen. The residence, owned by Jim Vogt, sustained 30% fire damage, 80% smoke damage and 50% water damage. An occupant, who wasn’t identified other than not being Vogt, was transported by ambulance to Baxter Health for precautionary reasons.
Seventeen personnel responded to the fire with two engine companies, a ladder company, a rescue unit and three support vehicles. Two more personnel were on standby.
Haines’ bond is set at $75,000. The fire remains under investigation, and Chief Griffin says he expects more details to be released at a later time.
