A Harrison man is facing a felony count of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Forty-six-year-old Jeremy McDonald has been in the Boone County Jail and Detention Center since he was booked Tuesday.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Boone County investigator was made aware on Oct. 31 McDonald was late for his required six-month update with the sheriff’s office. His due date was Oct. 8, and sex offenders in Arkansas are required to register on their report date or no later than five days after they are due. McDonald allegedly did not appear or call the sheriff’s office within the allowed time frame.

The investigator says McDonald was also given a form stating sex offender registration is available at the office Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 11:30 and 1 to 3:30. The form reportedly states a sex offender can report nine days prior and five days after the due date to register.

The affidavit did not indicate how and where McDonald was located and arrested. His bond is set at $3,500.
