An Ozark County man has been arrested for physically assaulting a woman, holding her against her will, breaking her phone and stealing her gun after she broke up with him. The victim told law enforcement she broke off the relationship because she suspected 26-year-old Donnivan Davis of Tecumseh of buying methamphetamine earlier in the day.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, the victim told deputies when she arrived back at her house, Davis grabbed her by her hair and dragged her out of her car and slammed her head into the side of the car, kicked her while she was on the ground and bit her multiple times. He threatened to kill her animals if she left.

The victim told deputies Davis went inside and went to sleep, but when he awoke, he continued his assault, slapping her in the head, pulling her hair and slamming her head into the floor.

The victim was eventually able to escape and call law enforcement. After returning home from her interview with deputies, she discovered a .22 rifle was missing from her home.

Davis is facing felony charges of kidnapping, harassment, domestic assault and stealing. He is being held in the Ozark County Jail without bond.
