Heavy rains Monday have caused the previous rain record for January 9 to be broken. The previous record set for the day in 1987 was 1.27 inches of rain. Tuesday morning a new record total of 1.46 inches was recorded at KTLO the official reporting station for the National Weather Service (NWS) in Mountain Home.
A 70 percent chance of rain continues into Tuesday morning with a chance of snow but no accumulation is expected.
A wind advisory is in effect Tuesday until 6pm with gusts of 40 out of the west and north west expected.
