The St. Louis Cardinals is giving fans throughout six states, including Arkansas and Missouri, an opportunity to meet a selection of current players, minor league prospects, alumni and team broadcasters. The franchise is running its annual Cardinals Caravans this weekend, and Springfield and Jonesboro will be among the stops.
Caravan Two will have two stops in Springfield on Friday as current players Brendan Donovan, Ivan Herrera, Nick Robertson and Max Rajcic will be joined by alumni Rick Ankiel and Ryan Ludwick and broadcasters Rick Horton and Mike Claiborne. The group will first be at Hammons Field at 12:30, and they’ll later show up at the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions at Great Southern Bank Arena on the campus of Missouri State University.
Caravan Three will be in Jonesboro on Saturday. Current players Masyn Wynn, Zack Thompson, Jose Fermin and Gordon Graceffo will be joined by alumni Kyle McClellan and Kerry Robinson and broadcaster Tom Ackerman at the Embassy Suites Jonesboro Red Wolf Convention Center on the campus of Arkansas State University. The start time is scheduled for noon.
The club will implement an autograph ticket system at each stop. The first 400 kids, ages 15 and under, through the door on the day of the event will receive a free autograph ticket which guarantees one autograph from each current and former player.
