The Viola Public Schools Board of Education has announced the search for a new Superintendent has begun.
In a meeting Monday night, the Viola School Board stated they would not be renewing the contract of current Superintendent John May.
In a statement released by the School Board they said, “We all like and respect Mr. May and we think he has done a good job for us. It is our belief that a new leader will bring fresh and new ideas to our school. We would like to thank him and say how much we appreciate his 28 years of service to our district with 17 years as our Superintendent. Unfortunately our school district is the 12th smallest school district in the state. Our school is the cornerstone of our community and we look forward to growth and improvements.”
