A Baxter county woman has been arrested for receiving unemployment benefits while she was still working. Fifty-nine-year-old Linda Gladys Sadowski of rural Mountain Home was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Saturday after authorities in Wisconsin arrested her on the Arkansas warrant issued for the crime.According to the probable cause affidavit, Sadowski failed to report work and income she earned while she was receiving unemployment benefits from June, 2020 through March, 2021. She had worked part time at a Mountain Home business but did not report the income, resulting in overpayment of benefits.

Sadowski was paid more than $12,500 in unemployment benefits than she should have received. That, combined with penalties and interest, brings the total she owes to the state to $19,227.96.

Sadowski is facing a felony charge of theft of public benefits over $2,500. Her bond is set at $20,000. Her first court date is scheduled for Monday.
