Arkansas State Police reported Tuesday that Jonesboro Police Officer Zachary Hobbs will not be charged in connection with the January 9th shooting death of Joseph McCracken Jr.
This comes after Jonesboro Police dispatch center received a call regarding an altercation between a father and his adult son at a home in the 1100 block of West Jefferson Street in Jonesboro. When officers arrived, a physical altercation ensued. The suspect reportedly reached for Officer Hobbs’ service weapon during the encounter before he was fatally shot.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and administered emergency aid on McCracken, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
