MH JR Varsity Girls dominate West Memphis Wonder in Thursday Basketball recap

The Mountain Home JR girls varsity team played host Thursday night to West Memphis Wonder with the Jr. Lady Bombers dominating with a final score of 35-3. Addison McCarn led in scoring for the Bombers with 12 points and Alma Kent contributing 5. Kenzie Kotlowski led in rebounds with 5 and Kenna Miller and Miley Epps both had 3 assists.

The sweep continued for Mountain against West Memphis Wonder when the boys teams took the floor. The 8th grade game ended with the Bombers winning 33-22. Max Bryant and Jonathan Krueger came in as top scorers. Cody Cormican and Bailor Tate led in scoring for the 9th grade game handing the Bombers another win with a final score of 26-15.

Elswhere in high school basketball, The Izard County Cougars jumped out to a 36-15 halftime lead over the Mount Vernon Enola and cruised to a 60-48 victory. The Cougars (16-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference) were led by Jude Everett with 18 points. Gabe Spray added 16 and Cash Arnhart 9. The Mount Vernon Enola Lady Warhawks defeated the Izard County Lady Cougars, 50-41. The game was tied 35-35 after three quarters. The Lady Cougars (16-7 overall and 7-4 in the conference) were led by Makensie Yancey with 11 points, Tinley Bailey 9, and Quinn Johnson 8.

The Cotter Warriors defended the home stand against Haas Hall Bentonville with a final score of 57-43. Flippin had a tough night on the road to Bergam with the Panthers sweeping the Bobcats in both games. Final score in the girls game was 81-43 and in 68-29 in the boys contest. Mammoth Springs girls beat Maynard girls 74-46 and the boys continued the momenetum with a win of thier own 60-37.
