Those traveling in eastern Fulton County and southward early Sunday morning will need to be cautious for an extremely oversized load. The load, known as a “superload,” will be traveling along Arkansas highways from the Missouri state line to Osceola. The route will begin at Mammoth Spring on U.S. Highway 63 at dawn, then travel on U.S. Highway 62/412 from Hardy to Ash Flat and continue south on U.S. Highway 167 from Ash Flat to Batesville. A map of the exact route is with this story on ktlo.com.

Being moved is a large silo lid that weighs 220,000 pounds, or 110 tons, and measures approximately 16 feet tall and 15 feet wide.

Arkansas Highway Police and ARDOT will assist escort crews as they transport the silo lid.
