When the first month of this year is over, it will be in the top 10 among wettest Januarys.
At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service in Mountain Home, .67 of an inch of rain were recorded at 7 a.m. Sunday, bringing the total rainfall for January to 6.38 inches. That currently puts 2024 as the sixth-wettest January. The wettest January on record was 8.8 inches in 1949.
There are still a few days of the year remaining, but no rain is in the forecast over the next week.
