Arkansas Democrat-Gazette puts MH girls No. 1 in Class 5A in high school basketball rankings

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s newest high school basketball rankings have the Mountain Home girls among the best in the state. The rankings released Sunday morning put the Lady Bombers at No. 1 in Class 5A in seventh in the state overall. This comes as Mountain Home rides a six-game winning streak and remains unbeaten in conference play.

Five other area girls’ teams are in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s current rankings. Norfork is second in Class 1A with Mammoth Spring having the top spot. Izard County is currently sixth in Class 2A. In Class 3A, Salem is third, and Bergman is at the top of the rankings. The Lady Panthers are also 10th in the state overall.

Three area schools are also featured in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s boys’ rankings this week. Mammoth Spring is sixth in Class 1A, Izard County is fifth in Class 2A, and Bergman is sixth in Class 3A.
