A Fulton County man, accused of murdering his wife who worked at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, has been found not guilty during a jury trial. The trial of 50-year-old Harvey John Taylor started last Monday and wrapped up Friday when the jury returned the not guilty verdict according to the Spring River Chronicle.

Taylor, along with 52-year-old Thomas G. Sanches, were each charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Kristy Taylor. The trial for Sanches is set to begin April 24.

Kristy Taylor, who worked for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, was reported to have filed for divorce from Harvey John Taylor on June 16, 2022. Three weeks later, on July 9, she was found dead of a gunshot wound to her head outside her home on Fawnwood Road in Salem.

Investigators stated a few weeks before her death, Harvey John Taylor offered another man $5,000 “to put a bullet in Kristy’s head and kill her dog Blue.” The man reportedly told detectives Harvey John Taylor “wanted Kristy killed because he didn’t want to lose everything he had in the divorce.”
