Starting Thursday, the City of Flippin will be conducting regular maintenance on the city’s water towers to ensure clean and safe drinking water.
According to a press release from the city, crews will be doing scheduled maintenance on the city’s elevated storage tanks. Officials state residents may notice water flowing out of the towers and a disruption in water pressure. Contractor crews will be cleaning the inside of the towers, washing the outside and filling the storage tanks back up. Officials state there will not be a need for a boil water order.
The Arkansas Department of Health requires cities to clean and inspect its elevated water storage tanks every three to five years in order to keep safe drinking water for customers.
The work is expected to run through Feb. 5.
If anyone has pressure issues, contact the Flippin Water Department at 870-453-8300.
