Demonstrators for a pro-Palestinian protest group marched across the Tennessee/Arkansas I-40 bridge Saturday causing lanes to be completely closed.Just after 3PM, protesters blocked all lanes of traffic in both directions as they linked arms and demanded local leaders, like U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), to cosponsor a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza. “Until Steve Cohen cosponsors for a ceasefire,” protestor Jana Abuirshaid said. “Until this genocide stops. Until our tax money is no longer funding what is going on in Palestine.”At 4:30 PM, the side of the bridge leading to Arkansas cleared up as the protesters collected to one side to let vehicles through. As of 5PM all lanes were accessible for traffic and protesters were cleared.

According to the Memphis Police Department, no arrests were made.
