A 14-year-old was arrested Tuesday after police received word of a possible threat towards Mayflower Middle School.
The Mayflower Police Department was notified about a possible “threat of violence” late Monday, according to a post on the Mayflower Police Department Facebook page. Lt. Taylor Decker said authorities were notified by concerned parents and student and launched an investigation. At approximately 5 A.M. Tuesday, a 14-year-old was arrested though the student’s name and association to the school has not been released.
Decker said he could not release the identity of the teenager, but he could say that the teenager was arrested at their home in Mayflower.
Police say there is no current threat for students or staff and an investigation is underway.
