It’s been about two months since Harris banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Bombers a one-point win over Valley View. On Tuesday, his buzzer beater from near half court pushed Mountain Home past the Goblins 54-53 in overtime. The majority of the game was back-and-forth. The Bombers threatened to go up double digits in the second quarter before Harrison cut the margin to three to end the first half. Blaine Tate led the Bombers with 18 points, Braiden Dewey scored 13, and Ryder McClain added 12. Scribner had 20 points for Harrison, and Cole Cecil chipped in 19.

The Bombers improve to 18-7 on the season and 6-3 in the 5A-West. Harrison falls to 16-9 and 4-5.

The girls’ contest was more lopsided as Mountain Home breezed past the Lady Goblins 57-32. The Lady Bombers, currently ranked fourth in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media, dominated the first half as they were up 21-5 at the end of the opening period and 39-9 at the break. The third quarter was played a little more even, but the mercy rule went in effect the moment the final quarter started, and Mountain Home went on to win by 25.

The Lady Bombers were led by Laykin Moore with 22 points, and Jayla Yonkers provided 12. No one was in double figures for Harrison.

Mountain Home is now 19-6 overall and 8-1 in the league. The Lady Goblins drop to 10-13 and 4-5.

The Bomber teams will return to the home floor for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks when they host Van Buren for Sweetheart Royalty on Friday.

In other 5A-West girls’ action, Russellville pounded Greenbrier 64-35, Siloam Springs got past Alma 43-39 in overtime, and Greenwood routed Van Buren 59-34. On the boys’ side, Russellville topped Greenbrier 60-56, Alma beat Siloam Springs 49-43, and Van Buren destroyed Greenwood 77-44.
