Gas prices see significant increase in Arkansas in past week

Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have risen 9.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.75 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in the state. Prices in Arkansas are 14.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 35.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 3.0 cents in the last week and stands at $3.92 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Arkansas was priced at $2.49 per gallon at multiple locations while the most expensive was $4.00 per gallon, a difference of $1.51 per gallon.

In Baxter County, prices are between $2.77 and $2.84 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.12 per gallon. The national average is up 4.0 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 32.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says, “A majority of states again saw average gasoline prices rise over the last week, pushed slightly higher by oil prices that had risen to multi-month highs. While most states saw price increases, they were somewhat tame, though the trend will likely begin to accelerate towards the end of the month.”
