In a previous story, it was reported the Mountain Home City Council had approved an increase in water and sewer rates. The previous story erroneously stated Act 605 of 2023, approved by the Arkansas State Legislature, requires each city’s water and sewer systems to support itself by the summer of 2026 or face consequences from the state. That law was actually Act 605 of 2021. Act 605 of 2023 was an appropriation for the Arkansas Department of Commerce for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
