The 2A-1 District Tournament held its semifinals on Friday at Cotter.
The host Lady Warriors were able to advance to Saturday’s title game. Cotter was able to defeat Greenland by a final of 42-29.
Cotter’s last opponent in the tournament will be Ozark Mountain. Yellville-Summit was edged out by the Lady Bears 62-60.
Cotter did not fare as well on the boys’ side of the bracket. The Warriors suffered a 50-38 loss at the hands of Greenland.
Yellville-Summit will be paired with the Pirates in the championship contest. The Panthers topped Haas Hall-Bentonville 66-50.
Salem hosted the semifinals of the 3A-2 District Tournament.
The Lady Greyhounds moved on to the title game as they invoked the mercy rule. Salem routed Cave City 75-47.
Salem’s final opponent in the district tournament will be Mountain View. Melbourne lost to the Lady Yellowjackets 55-47.
Melbourne was not any more fortunate in boys’ action. The Bearkatz fell to Tuckerman by a score of 57-44.
Mountain View will be matched up with the Bulldogs in the championship game. The Yellowjackets beat Walnut Ridge 52-43.
Mammoth Spring was able to sweep Marked Tree in the championship games of the 1A-3 District Tournament at Crowley’s Ridge Academy in Paragould.
The Lady Bears pounded the Lady Indians 57-33. Laney Young was Mammoth Spring’s top scorer with 18 points, Tay Davis had 16, and Brynn Washam chipped in 12.
Mammoth Spring’s boys followed by topping Marked Tree 58-48. Garet O’Dell paced the Bears with 26 points, and Blake Rogers provided 11.
Both of Bergman’s teams got beat in the championship games of the 3A-1 District Tournament in Valley Springs. The Lady Panthers fell to the host Lady Tigers 50-44. Bergman also lost the boys’ contest to Elkins 63-55.
