High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule and includes the regular season finale for Mountain Home. It’s Senior Night for the Bombers and Lady Bombers as they welcome Alma to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 21-8 on the season and 10-3 in the 5A-West following their win at Greenbrier on Tuesday. Alma is 8-21 and 2-11 after getting routed by Greenwood. The Lady Bombers squeaked by the Lady Airedales 52-49 in their first meeting on Jan. 26.
The Mountain Home boys are 20-9 overall and 8-5 in the league as they come off a five-point win at Greenbrier. Alma, currently ranked second in Class 5A and ninth overall by the Arkansas Sports Media, improved to 19-9 and 12-1 after their win over Greenwood. The Bombers were edged out by the Airedales 53-50 nearly a month ago.
Mountain Home’s boys are currently tied for third in the conference with Russellville, and the Cyclones own the tiebreaker for the No. 3 seed in next week’s state tournament. The Bombers will finish in third place if they beat Alma and if Russellville loses at home to Van Buren.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 at Bomber Gymnasium, and the varsity contests will follow around 6. The Senior Night activities will be in between the varsity games, which will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Other matchups in the 5A-West include Harrison traveling to Siloam Springs and Greenbrier making the trip to Greenwood.
