A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting death occurring 19 1/2 years ago in Fulton County. Dennis Kingston was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Friday as he is facing charges of first-degree murder and felony with a firearm.
According to a news release, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded Aug. 25, 2004, to a report of a shooting south of Salem on Whipporwill Road. Deputies discovered David “Stony” Stone had been fatally shot through the window of the residence belonging to Leon King. The sheriff’s office and the Arkansas State Police had been working the investigation since.
A Fulton County detective took over the investigation this past May. He interviewed several persons of interest and examined various pieces of evidence collected during the investigation. The detective also reportedly located more evidence and submitted it to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock.
On Friday, the detective interviewed Kingston for the second time in a two-week period. During the interview, Kingston reportedly admitted to shooting Stone through the window.
