Deputies have arrested a man last Friday that they say was involved in multiple robberies.
Deputies were notified that several businesses were robbed in a short amount of time in Searcy, Beebe, Cabot, Jacksonville and Ward. Following the robbery in Ward, a patrol sergeant noted the suspect, Crockett, was heading toward White County, and ordered his shift to spread out and monitor open businesses immediately adjacent to Highway 67. At 11:35 p.m., the sergeant spotted a stolen truck with a Nevada, which matched the description given, at the Hardees within the Loves Truck Stop in Searcy. He then saw Crockett exit the business and rush to the truck. The sergeant pursued Crockett onto Highway 67 into Jackson County, where speeds reached 120 miles per hour. An Arkansas State Trooper performed a pit maneuver and William Henry Crockett III was arrested after attempting to flee on foot.
Crockett will appear in court again on May 7 and was given a $200,000 bond.
