A Fulton County man has been arrested following a breaking or entering incident at First National Bank in Mammoth Springs. Forty-one-year-old Brandon Jemes of Lebanon, Missouri is facing charges of breaking or entering, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
According to the probable cause affidavit on March 1, the Mammoth Springs Police Department received a call stating there was a possible vehicle theft in progress at the First National Bank on U.S. Highway 63.
When officers arrived, they located an individual on the sidewalk near the Spring River Commons matching the suspect’s descriptions. Officers approached the suspect, identified as Jemes, giving clear verbal commands and he complied.
While attempting to detain the Jemes, he allegedly began to resist but was taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, officers got written statements from bank employees and two individuals who intervened when they witnessed the crime. A statement from the victim claims Jemes approached her from outside the bank and asked to buy her vehicle. She told Jemes it was not for sale as she walked into the bank. She then stated she saw Jemes open her driver’s side door and sat in the driver’s seat. Two men who witnessed the incident, removed Jemes from the victim’s vehicle.
Jemes was arrested and transported to the Fulton County Detention Center. He is facing a felony charge of breaking or entering, a misdemeanor of resisting arrest and a misdemeanor of disorderly conduct. Jemes is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.
