A woman accused of assaulting another female at a residence northeast of Mountain Home has been arrested. Forty-seven-year-old Amy McLean is facing charges of third-degree domestic battering and resisting arrest.
According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatch advised deputies of an altercation on March 4 at a residence on Sherwood Hills Drive. The caller stated McLean had been fighting with another woman and the complainant also believed McLean was under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both.
When deputies arrived, they heard a female, later identified as McLean, yelling obscenities and stumbling around in the living room. The deputy knocked on the door, and McLean reportedly made a gesture and yelled an obscenity toward him. However, she soon opened the door and invited the deputy inside the residence.
McLean reportedly refused several times to provide her name and stated the deputy needed to leave. Around that time, the victim and the complainant exited a back bedroom after hiding. The victim had a bandage on her left wrist and accused McLean of grabbing her arm after slapping her. The victim also claimed she slapped McLean in return. The complainant reportedly confirmed the victim’s account of McLean grabbing her wrist, causing the skin to break and bleed.
The deputy returned to the living room and told McLean she was under arrest. She reportedly refused multiple times to place her hands behind her back. The deputy eventually was able to get McLean’s hands in restraints and she was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center, where jailers stated she ended up being placed in the restraint chair.
McLean is currently free from jail on a bond of $980.
