LOFTIS:Visiting with Flippin Mayor Heath Hogan. Mayor, can you give us an update on the city of Flippin this morning?
HOGAN: Well, this morning we still, we had some of our residents, several of them, that was still able, able to get electricity. Some is still out. We have a couple of industries that I know is still out. Ranger Boats is still out. I believe Vexus is still out. Our main city hall is, is still out. The school, Flippin Public School, is still out. Electricity is still out and, and they did, uh, cancel school today. So we’re, we have some that’s back on and we’re hoping, hoping today we’ll see, uh, more progress.
LOFTIS: Highway 178 between, uh, Flippin and Bull Shoals remains closed.
HOGAN: From a stretch, from about up to Uh, first service bank across from middle school, probably down to about Microplastics, uh, is going to remain closed and part of the intersection of 178, 202 to almost to around Twin Lakes Nursing Home is going to, is going to remain closed.
LOFTIS: And early reports for Energy, they expect to have power stored. Their goal is by the close of business today.
HOGAN: Yes, uh, they’re, the other crew, um, that will be coming in and, and they will start. Um, I haven’t been to the area yet this morning. We’ll hear in just a bit. Uh, and they may already, you know, be there starting to work. So I believe that is their go, uh, by the end of business day to have everybody on, um, with electricity.
LOFTIS: A lot of people worked a long night and a long day today in the city of Flippin. Mayor, is there anything that we can do to help?
HOGAN: What you are doing, Heather, keeping all the citizens up to date, and if I could, I would, I would just like to say, a word of appreciation to Energy, working hard, my city employees, fire department, police department, public works. We’re doing our best and, and, uh, to try to see everybody will have their power turned on today.
