Baxter County Juvenile Services will be partnering with the Great American Clean Up as part of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful campaign. Area children, teenagers, and adults are gearing up to beautify the community Monday through Wednesday, and over 40 volunteers have registered for the event.
According to a news release, Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty is encouraging the community to participate. Cotter Mayor Mac Caradine recently joined Juvenile Services with project ideas for the city and Big Spring Park. Arkansas Department of Transportation’s Baxter County Supervisor Stan Risley will assist with supplies, bags and signs to identify roadside areas needing attention.
Baxter County Road and Bridge Superintendent Larry Carter is providing the opportunity for volunteers to work county roadways. In addition, Baxter County Buildings and Grounds Superintendent Rob Hogard will work with volunteers to groom county lawns and shrubs. Baxter County Deputy Clerk Jessica Worman and her Boy Scout troop will pick up litter and recyclables at local parks.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in this year’s community improvement efforts. Civic and service organizations, church and youth groups, school groups and clubs, scouts, individuals, families, neighborhoods and businesses can organize cleanup teams.
